The students of SJB gathered today to celebrate the upcoming birthday of Dr. Seuss and kicked off our March Madness reading competition. Each class was asked to make hats for the party, and the 7th graders chose to go as characters from The Lorax. We had hats depicting the Lorax, Bar-Ba-Loots, Once-ler, Humming fish, and Truffula Trees.
A special thanks to Ms. Gaskill for organizing the event–what a fun morning!!
Today, the 8th graders were working on creating nets for a variety of 3D figures. They were challenged to find the 11 nets of a cube, using manipulatives. It was great to see their problem skills and teamwork put to use and they were able to come up with almost all 11 of them–awesome job 8th graders!
On Wednesday, December 17th, SJB hosted their annual Christmas concert. The 7th grade class did a wonderful job singing “O Little Town of Bethlehem”. An extra round of applause goes out to the 7th grade leads, Marcus and Manuel on a job well done!! Thanks Ms. Blythe for all of your hard work–the show was fabulous!
